Boondoggle and Payconiq by Bancontact launch QR codes for charity.
Donate two euro to Belgian charities using the Payconiq by Bancontact app on your mobile.
What does two euro mean to you? A cup of coffee, your daily newspaper, a beer after work? For many, two euro is only a small amount to pay for a daily ritual. For people, animals and nature in dire straits, two euro can make a big difference. Therefore, Payconiq by Bancontact is launching the initiative Scan for Change, in collaboration with 19 Belgian charities. This innovative campaign aims to encourage support for charities operating in Belgium in the form of small amounts. Donations of 2 euro can be made easily and securely by simply scanning a QR code using the Payconiq by Bancontact app.
Scanning for a good cause: an initiative in stations and online
From 3 December – Giving Tuesday, an international day dedicated to giving – the Scan for Change campaign is being run in 7 Belgian train stations (Antwerp Central, Bruges, Brussels Central, Brussels North and Brussels South, Ghent Sint Pieters, Liège Guillemins) until 18 December 2019. Large signs in the stations invite passers-by to reflect on the value of two euro to them and to people, animals and nature in need. Because a donation of two euro means more than just money. It also means giving hope and support to people for whom the help of the 19 participating charities is an indispensable recognition.
A Scan for Change wall has been set up in each of the 7 train stations. On it there are inspiring, real-life stories that are each linked to a QR code. By scanning the code next to a story that affects them, the passer-by donates two euro to charities actively involved in this issue in Belgium. Of course, it is possible to donate two euro to multiple charities simply by scanning multiple codes.
The initiative is also available online. All the stories on the Scan for Change walls can be read at scanforchange.be, so it is also easy to donate two euro online using the Payconiq by Bancontact app.
No more excuses such as “I have no cash on me”, or “I have forgotten my wallet…”. You’re welcome!
