Boondoggle, Havas and Fnac unwrap ho-ho-horiginal AI for Christmas shopping.
Traditionally, the end of the year is one of the most stressful times of the year, especially when it comes to finding that elusive perfect gift. Less running around like a headless chicken and more enjoying the turkey: that’s Fnac’s holiday de-stressor gift to us all this season.
The message is clear: you’ll always find a ho-ho-horiginal gift at Fnac. A playful nod and wink to our jo-ho-holly friend in the North.
To bring that message to life, Boondoggle Havas created a striking visual. Inspired by a particular idea (and, okay, also a very sho-ho-short deadline), they developed a key visual with AI tooling and, mainly, through some excellent prompts. The result? A Fnac employee who strangely resembles Father Christmas shows us all the inspiration you can get at Fnac's. The quality of the AI-generated image was so high that it was successfully used across multiple formats: print, POS materials, and even window stickers.
Stijn Cox, CEO of Boondoggle Havas: "It was a serious challenge for our team to come up with a Christmas campaign on such short notice. But thanks to our experience in AI generation, we opted for an AI-generated image to swiftly achieve a high-quality result."
For the radio chapter of this campaign, we can already speak of a tradition. After two remarkable waves around Back to School and Black Friday, the tone of voice remains quirky and self-deprecating. This time, two sisters have the lead roles, and funny situations ensue from a very recognisable scenario: "What present shall we give our parents?!" Luckily, one of them has no stress whatsoever because she simply goes to Fnac. The pressure one feels when trying to find the perfect gift for mom and dad will ring a jingle bell, but the sibling rivalry between the two bickering sisters is very relatable, too.
Fnac and Boondoggle Havas wish you a happy holiday season and remind you of the simplest way to make this time of year less stressful: rely on Fnac for all your gifts.
